De Surinaamse topbassist Jason Eduwaiti kreeg muziek met de paplepel ingegoten door zijn familie, die aan de wig stond van Saramaccaanse Gospel. Op het conservatorium in Suriname besloot Jason, geïnspireerd door Richard Bona, zijn Saramaccaanse roots te fuseren met Jazz en Funk. Na zijn eindexamen trad hij op in wisselende bezettingen, zoals op het North Sea Jazz festival in Rotterdam in de Ronald Snijders Special Band van 2023.
